Virtual Nunavut Day Celebrations!
(July 2, 2021 – Iqaluit, Nunavut) Nunavut Tunngavik Inc. (NTI) will be hosting Nunavut Day celebrations virtually again this year – but that doesn’t mean it’s not going to be fun!
The Nunavut Day organizing committee has worked hard to ensure that all Inuit, including Inuit living outside of the Nunavut Settlement Area are able to participate in this year’s celebrations.
NTI will be hosting 2 contests and a LIVE TV event:
- Home Cook Challenge – an online cooking contest for kids, teens and adults. Contestants will submit their favorite recipe, take a photo of the completed dish and submit it. Deadline to enter is July 4, 2021. Winners will be announced on July 9, during the LIVE TV event.
- House, Boat and Shed Decorating Contest – House, Boats and Sheds are eligible to enter in this competition, NTI understands housing situation vary in every community. Show your Nunavut pride for the world to see! Deadline to enter is July 9, 2021. Winners will be announced by social media on July 13, 2021.
- Uvagut TV, Alianait Arts Festival and NTI team together to host an LIVE event for Nunavut Day. LIVE event will air on Uvagut TV from 7:00 PM – 9:30 PM EST with performances by Tooma & Leena, Louis Suluk, Huqqullaaqatigiit, Terry Uyara and Looee and James Arreak.
