( Iqaluit, Nunavut) Nunavut Tunngavik Inc. President Cathy Towtongie today announced that live proceedings of NTI Board of Directors meetings will now be aired via live audiocast from NTI’s website.
The new service is in a public test phase this year. It begins next week for interested listeners who are unable to attend the NTI Board meeting in person in Gjoa Haven, Mar. 15-17, 2016.
When the meeting begins, the live audiocast will be available through this link from NTI’s website: boardmeetings.tunngavik. Listeners will be able to hear an unedited, live version of the meeting as it is being conducted, in the languages being used by meeting participants.
“NTI is offering this service so that Inuit have the ability to listen to the live proceedings of the NTI Board meetings while they are being conducted. The goal in hosting our Board meetings in communities was to bring NTI closer to Inuit. This is another step in that same process. We hope this initiative is popular and well received,” said Towtongie.
Inuit who are not able to listen to the live audiocast, recordings of the meetings will be made available on the website once the meetings end.
