(August 2, 2018 – Iqaluit, Nunavut) Nunavut Tunngavik Inc. (NTI) President Aluki Kotierk today announces that Ayaya Marketing & Communications would serve as Chief Returning Officer (CRO) for the NTI Election for Vice President, December 10th, 2018.
The nomination period for the election runs from October 29, 2018 – November 2, 2018. Eligible candidates and voters must be Canadian citizens, at least 16 years of age, and enrolled under the Nunavut Agreement. Nomination forms can be obtained from the CRO, Community Liaison Officers, or NTI’s website once the nomination period opens.
Candidates are responsible for ensuring that nomination papers sent to the CRO are received. If nomination papers are not received by deadline, a potential candidate will not be permitted to run in the election. Candidates may withdraw their nomination papers until November 5, 2018 at 5PM local time.
Voters in the NTI Election for Vice President can vote using one of the five different methods, which include advance polls on December 3, 2018, mobile polls, proxy, using a mail-in ballot or on election day, December 10, 2018.
