(April 24, 2020 Iqaluit ) Nunavut Tunngavik Incorporated (NTI) Board of Directors today expressed condolences to the family and friends of Pangnirtung resident, Hezakiah Oshutapik who passed away on Friday, April 17, 2020.
“Hezakiah Oshutapik was an engaged leader who will be remembered for his kindness and goodwill. He had the best interest of his fellow Inuit at heart. I offer sincere condolences to Hezakiah’s family as they grieve his passing. It is heart breaking to lose a loved one. I had respect for Hezakiah and his community spirit.” said NTI President, Aluki Kotierk.
Hezakiah served as a Member of the Legislative Assembly of Nunavut for Pangnirtung and as Mayor of Pangnirtung. He was 63 years old.
