Nunavut Tunngavik Foundation has re-opened the application period for students
(November 21, 2018 – Iqaluit, Nunavut) Nunavut Tunngavik Inc. (NTI) President Aluki Kotierk is pleased to announce that NTI is actively supporting Nunavut Inuit in pursuit of further education. Following the 2018 call for applicants, 214 scholarships were awarded by Nunavut Tunngavik Foundation (NTF) to Inuit students enrolled under the Nunavut Agreement to support them in their studies.
“I am pleased that there are many Inuit students pursuing Post-Secondary education and that Nunavut Tunngavik can support them. Nunavut Tunngavik Foundation will re-open the application period for students who did not apply between July 1 and August 31, 2018”, said Kotierk.
Students who wish to apply and did not have a chance to do so earlier this year will have time to apply for the following Scholarship Programs, until November 30, 2018 at 5:00pm Central Time;
- $1000 for the Skills and Employment Advancement Scholarship enrolled in P.A.S.S., A.B.E., G.R.E.A.T, Foundations, employment training, or trades programs, at a minimum of four weeks;
- $2500 for the Post-Secondary Scholarship for students enrolled in a recognized college or university of two years or longer for a degree program or a preparatory program that leads to a degree program.

Please read the Application Form and Guide carefully on the website under Initiatives/Nunavut Tunngavik Foundation tab and ensure to include all necessary information, including Nunavut Inuit Enrollment Number, proof of Identification and proof of education program attendance.
Application forms and program information, which are available on our website, can be obtained from a Community Liaison Officer (all Nunavut communities) and at one of NTI’s offices in Iqaluktuutiak, Kangiqliniq or Iqaluit. Scholarship applications can be submitted by mail, email, fax or in person at the information below before November 30 @ 5:00 CT.
The NTF was created by NTI to manage surplus funds from the Common Experience Payment Fund of the Residential School Settlement Agreement. Kotierk adds, “The Nunavut Tunngavik Foundation’s top priority is to support Inuit students advancing their formal education.
