Rankin-Inlet, Nunavut (November 8, 2000) An important milestone was passed on October 22, 2000. Helen Klengenberg, former Director of Human Resources at Nunavut Tunngavik Inc. (NTI), graduated from St. Mary’s University with a Masters of Business Administration degree. She is the first Inuk to earn this advanced academic distinction.

We are very proud of Helen, said Raymond Ningeocheak, 2nd Vice President of NTI. She worked very hard for two years to reach her goal and must be seen as a model for others in Nunavut. I congratulate her on her effort and know that she will work hard to apply her new knowledge and skills to the continuing development of Nunavut.

Helen Klengenberg was originally sponsored by NTI for the Nunavut Unified Human Resource Development Strategy (NUHRDS) Executive MBA program, organized by Arctic College, St. Mary’s University, NTI, Government of Nunavut, Nunavut Implementation Training Committee (NITC), and Department of Indian Affairs and northern Development (DIAND). She is the first to graduate from the program.
