NR 00-26 CON ENG Suspension Continues.doc

Iqaluit, Nunavut (November 6, 2000) The Board of Directors of Nunavut Tunngavik Inc (NTI) has decided to continue Paul Quassa’s suspension as President. The issue of the suspension was revisited at a special meeting of the Board, with Quassa’s participation, on November 6.

Paul Quassa has not met all of the requirements outlined in the October 27 Board resolution suspending him, and so will remain on suspension, said James Eetoolook, Acting President. There needs to be a full reconciliation of outstanding expenses and a repayment plan acceptable to the Board.

On October 27, the NTI Board voted unanimously to place Quassa on suspension for up to 90 days because of irregularities over the past few months in his use and reporting of petty cash, travel expenses and an NTI credit card.
