(September 12, 2025 – Iqaluit, Nunavut) Nunavut Tunngavik President Jeremy Tunraluk congratulates Christy Nipisha Sinclair on her appointment to the Indigenous Advisory Council (IAC) for the new Major Projects Office. The IAC will advise Canada on how major nation-building projects proceed, ensuring Indigenous perspectives help decisions that affect our lands, waters and communities.
“I want to congratulate Christy on this important appointment,” said NTI President Tunraluk. “She is a strong Inuk leader who brings knowledge, integrity, and a deep commitment to advancing Inuit priorities. Her experience will strengthen the Council and help ensure that Inuit-led and Inuit-identified projects are represented in Canada’s major projects agenda.”
NTI looks forward to working with Ms. Sinclair and partners across Inuit Nunangat to ensure regulatory pathways respect Inuit rights and deliver measurable outcomes in housing, connectivity, energy, and community infrastructure.
