NTI President Congratulates Kivalliq Inuit Association elect Kono Tattuinee

(December 17, 2019 Iqaluit) Nunavut Tunngavik Inc. (NTI) President Aluki Kotierk today congratulated Kono Tattuinee on being elected as president of Kivalliq Inuit Association (KIA). Tattuinee was elected on December 12, 2019, in an election delayed for two days due to inclement weather.

Stanley Adjuk, David Ningeongan and Kono Tattuinee were the three candidates for the KIA Presidential elections.

“Congratulations to the newly elected Kivalliq Inuit Association President. I look forward to working collaboratively with Tattuinee in his role to ensure that the interest of Nunavut Inuit are equitably represented,” said Kotierk.

Tattuinee, born in Churchill, Manitoba, will hold the Presidential seat for KIA for a 4-year term until 2023.

President Kotierk thanked David Ningeongan for his eight years of service on the NTI Board, which includes the establishment of the Makigiaqta Inuit Training Corporation and Nunavut Tunngavik Foundation.
