NTI Notice of Election 2022

(October 13,2022 – Iqaluit, Nunavut) Nunavut Tunngavik Inc. (NTI) will hold an election for Vice-President on December 12, 2022.

To be eligible to vote you must be an Inuk enrolled under the Nunavut Agreement and be at least 16 years old on December 12, 2022.

The nomination period will open Monday, October 31, 2022 and will close Friday, November 4, 2022.

Nomination forms for interested Candidates will be available from the Chief Returning

Officer (CRO), Paul Okalik, Community Liaison Officers (CLO), Ayaya Communications (Office of the CRO), or from NTI’s website as of October 31, 2022 at 12 a.m. EST.

If you are interested in being a Candidate, a criminal record check completed within the past three months must be received with your Candidates package. Potential nominees are encouraged to start this process with the RCMP immediately. Nomination papers must be filed with the CRO no later than November 4, 2022, 5 p.m. local time.

Candidates are responsible for ensuring that nomination papers are filed in accordance with NTI’s Election Rules and Procedures and delivered by the deadline. If nomination papers are not received by the deadline, a potential candidate will not be permitted to run as a candidate in the NTI election.
