(December 10, 2018 — Iqaluit, Nunavut) Nunavut Tunngavik Inc. (NTI) Chief Returning Officer Nancy Karetak-Lindell today said that vote counting for NTI Vice-President Election will be delayed due to poor weather in some communities.
Karetak-Lindell said polls in Gjoa Haven and Arctic Bay closed earlier than scheduled today due to weather and will reopen as soon as conditions improve. Voting will continue in other communities but the counting of ballots in all communities will be delayed until after voting in Gjoa Haven and Arctic Bay is completed.
James Eetoolook and Peter Ohokanoak are competing for the role of vice president during the election.
