(November 3, 2004 – Rankin Inlet, Nunavut) Nunavut Tunngavik Inc. (NTI) today honoured a Rankin Inlet resident during a feast organized as part of NTI’s 2004 Annual General Meeting.
Dominic Kasadluak received the Community Recognition Award for the vast contributions he has made to his community. Kasadluak volunteers for numerous committees including recreation, justice, health, Canada Day, the Christmas games committee and the organizing committee for Hamlet Day.
I am pleased to recognize Mr. Kasadluak’s hard work. He helps make Nunavut a better place to live by caring for his fellow community members. I am honoured that NTI is able to recognize his dedication to his community and fellow residents, said NTI President Paul Kaludjak.
NTI also extended their heartfelt thanks to Rankin Inlet Mayor Lorne Kusugak, the Hamlet Council, the staff and students of Simon Alaittuq High School and the people of Rankin Inlet for the superb job they did in hosting delegates during the 2004 Annual General Meeting. Participants felt welcomed by the community and were very pleased with the manner in which the meeting and evening activities were conducted.
