Other notable discussions include the Draft Nunavut Land Use Plan (DNLUP). The Board of NTI discussed in general terms, the land use planning process. The Board recognizes that RIA’s and NTI, as land owners, have a key role in representing Inuit interests regarding what occurs on Inuit Owned Lands (IOLs). Land use planning should reflect the priorities and values of Inuit, and the goals and objectives of RIA’s and NTI for IOLs at every stage of the process and especially when the Nunavut Planning Commission takes the step of redrafting the 2021 DNLUP.
NTI Board of Directors made a donation to the Cambridge Bay Community Food Bank and the Mayor’s Elder’s Advisory Council in the amount of $5000 each, in lieu of a community feast due to covid restrictions.
