Election Commissioner (Standing Offer Agreement)

Nunavut Tunngavik Inc. (NTI) is seeking a qualified individual to serve as Election Commissioner for the upcoming election on December 12, 2016.

The function of the Election Commissioner is to review and investigate any complaint of violation of the election policies, and make recommendations to NTI Board of Directors as to the appropriate remedy or penalty. The Election Commissioner will work closely with the Chief Returning Officer.

In the event a complaint is initiated and your service is needed, you will be paid at a rate agreed upon in advance by you and NTI. NTI will also pay all reasonable expenses of the office of the Election Commissioner, including airfares and accommodations (if necessary). NTI will also provide administrative support as required.

Elections Rules and Procedures and other NTI election policies can be found on NTI’s website, and are available upon request.

A qualified individual will ideally have experience and/or background in the following areas: general elections (federal, territorial, municipal or Inuit organizations), public administration and/or law. Priority will be given to individuals enrolled under the Nunavut Agreement.
