Inuktut Education Innovation Fund: Enhancing Inuit Language and Culture Education

(April 24, 2025 – Iqaluit, Nunavut) Nunavut Tunngavik Incorporated (NTI) is pleased to announce a Call for Proposals for the Inuktut Education Innovation Fund, a program designed to advance Inuit Language and Culture education within Nunavut’s education system. This Fund provides valuable opportunities for Inuit to foster innovation and growth in the delivery of education in Inuktut.

The fund aims to support research on innovative education methods, curriculum development, and best practices in delivering education in Inuit Language and Culture, including the advancement of essential resources, professional development opportunities, curriculum development and networks to support Inuit educators.

“This fund represents our commitment to ensuring that future generations are equipped to thrive in a world where our language and culture remain central to our identity and success,” says NTI President Jeremy Tunraluk. “By supporting innovative projects and professional development, we are empowering Inuit educators, researchers, and communities to shape the future of Inuktut education.”

Applicants can submit proposals for either one-year or two-year projects. NTI retains final discretion in determining project eligibility and the amount of funding awarded.
