August 16, 2018 – Iqaluit, Nunavut)  Nunavut Tunngavik Inc. (NTI) President Aluki Kotierk today congratulated Natan Obed on being re-elected as president of Inuit Tapiriit Kanatami (ITK).  Obed was elected today during the ITK Annual General Meeting in Inuvik, NWT.

Peter Ittinuar, Natan Obed and Peter Williamson were the three candidates for ITK’s Presidential elections.

“Congratulations to the newly re-elected ITK President.  I look forward to working collaboratively with Obed in his role to ensure that the interests of Nunavut Inuit are equitably represented at the national level” said Kotierk

Obed, born in Nain, held the presidential seat for ITK since 2015 and will continue until 2021.
