Under the direction of the Assistant Director Inuit Programs and Services is responsible for procurement and contracting for the department of SCD. The role includes providing advice and building and maintaining effective business relationships with clients, funders, and partners, while safeguarding the department’s accountability, transparency and credibility. The Contract Manager will provide support to important programs and projects, engaging key partners and stakeholders in the region. The role will provide you the opportunity to make a significant difference in the economic and social wellbeing of Inuit.
To be invited for an interview; Minimum of a Project Management Certificate or Bachelor of Arts Degree in a relevant field, or at least 3 years of equivalent experience in a managerial position. Knowledge of the Nunavut Land Claims Agreement and Nunavut Tunngavik Inc. Mandate. Knowledge of Regional, Territorial, National, and International Inuit Organizations Familiarity with government processes and direct northern experience in dealing with governments. Knowledge of Inuit Social and Cultural issues (values, principles, worldview). Demonstrated awareness and sensitivity to Inuit issues.Experience in developing and managing budgets. Experience with third-party funding and project management. Experience in providing advice or recommendations to management in support of program or project management.Must be reliable and dependable.Self-starter with strong motivation to lead on important social and cultural files. Proven ability to deal simultaneously with multiple priorities under high levels of stress and pressure.
Preference will be given to Inuit enrolled under the Nunavut Agreement.
Starting salary is $121,200.00 per annum (commensurate with experience) a comprehensive benefit package including an employee pension plan, group insurance and vacation travel assistance.
Housing allowance of $35,865.00
