Q. My aunt has passed on and I would like to attend her funeral in another community. What sort of assistance is available to me as a Beneficiary?
A. The Bereavement Travel Program provides financial assistance for a maximum of two family members who wish to travel to attend the funeral of a family member in another Nunavut community. The family must decide which two family members will attend. You will need to provide a copy of death certificate and once travel arrangements have been made, any changes will be at the expense of the traveler.

Q. My father is very ill and I would like to visit him before he passes away. What sort of assistance is available to me as a Beneficiary?
A. The Compassionate Travel Program provides financial assistance for air travel for a maximum of two family members who wish to see a family member who is terminally ill and facing imminent death. The family must provide a letter provided by the terminally ill patient’s doctor.
