Nunavut Tunngavik Foundation

Nunavut Tunngavik Inc (NTI) is pleased to offer two new programs launching in 2018, this will be administered through the newly established Nunavut Tunngavik Foundation (NTF).

NTF was created as a charitable organization to receive the remainder of the Common Experience Payment Designated Amount Fund after Common Experience Payments were paid out to all eligible former residential school students.

The funds will be made available to Inuit enrolled under the Nunavut Agreement in the form of a Cultural and Healing Program and two Scholarship Programs in the spring and fall of 2018.

Cultural and Healing Program

Up to ten organizations will be eligible to submit applications to deliver cultural, language, Inuit history or a healing programs, beginning in the spring of 2018. Organizations can apply for funding at a maximum of $25,000.

Scholarship Programs

Up to 200 Inuit will be eligible to apply for the $1250 Post-Secondary Scholarship launching on January 2nd of 2018, with a deadline of January 31st, 2018 at 5PM . Please note that this fund will increase to $2500 per student to coincide with the new fiscal year in March of 2018.

A separate scholarship fund for Training and Advancement will begin in the summer/fall of 2018 andup to 250 Inuit will be eligible to apply for the $1000 Scholarship.

The completed Application Form must be forwarded to foundation@tunngavik.com, or printed and sent to Susan Enuaraq, Senior Program Officer, by fax or mail.
