Call for Nominations (3-Year Term) Nunavut Planning Commission

Nunavut Tunngavik Inc. (NTI) is seeking dedicated Inuit with a strong interest in land use planning to serve a three-year term on the Nunavut Planning Commission (NPC).

The NPC plays a key role in managing and guiding land use across Nunavut, including:

  • Developing and implementing land use plans;
  • Reviewing and monitoring development proposals for compliance;
  • Balancing environmental, cultural, and economic interests;
  •  Supporting sustainable development that reflects Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit.

To be considered, applicants must:

  • be personally committed to advancing Inuit interests;
  • have a solid understanding of the Nunavut Agreement, particularly NPC’s role;
  • have knowledge of Institutions of Public Government (IPGs) such as Nunavut Impact Review Board (NIRB), Nunavut Water Board (NWB), Nunavut Wildlife Management Board (NWMB), and Nunavut Surface Rights Tribunal (NSRT);
  • understand and value Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit principles.

NTI is committed to Inuit involvement in implementing the Nunavut Agreement and follows an open and transparent selection process.
