Youth Programs Coordinator

Under the supervision of the Director of Inuit Programs and Services, the Youth Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating work related to youth programming and initiatives.  The candidate will work closely with youth coordinators from each Regional Inuit Association to plan the Inuit Youth Cultural Exchange and other related activities.  This will also involve working collaboratively with the Department of Social and Cultural Development Department in the development of a Nunavut Youth Council and mental wellness related activities.  The Youth Programs Coordinator will also be responsible for supporting the overall mandate and goals of the division of Inuit Programs and Services.

 This position requires a highly motivated individual who is a self-starter, has experience in project management and development for youth, possesses strong writing and verbal communication skills, planning and research skills. Strong leadership skills and the ability to work within a team environment are required. The Youth Program Coordinator must have the ability to work with demanding deadlines under high levels of stress, and be able to travel. Education requirements include post-secondary education or high school diploma with related experience. Several years of related experience. Ability to speak in Inuktut would be an asset. Preference will be given to Inuit enrolled under the Nunavut Agreement.

 Starting salary is $81,974.00 (commensurate with experience) per annum with $24,000.00 per annum of Northern and Housing allowance.
