Nunavut Harvesters Support Program

Under the Direction of the Director of Inuit Programs and Services, The Manager of the NSHP (Nunavut Harvester Support Program), you will plan, manage and direct the Nunavut Harvesters Support Program (NHSP). The Manager will design and implement a communications strategy, maintain a process for screening and approving applications for program assistance, process purchasing of equipment, manage program expenditures, develop and submit policy amendments to the Nunavut Tunngavik Inc. (NTI) Board in relation to the NHSP.
The Manager is responsible for the procedures and program delivery along with the development and management of the policies, procedures, criteria and the guidelines pertaining to the administration, monitoring of the program. The Manager will establish and maintain close communication and working relations with the Regional Wildlife Organizations, Hunters & Trappers Organizations, Nunavut Wildlife Management Board, Regional Inuit Organizations, Government of Nunavut and other organizations in Nunavut and the Northwest Territories.
The ideal candidate will possess a diploma in Business Administration or in an equivalent field with three years of northern program management experience. You will have proven supervisory and senior management experience. Computer skills in this position are essential, as well as having an understanding of community needs and the traditional role hunting has occupied in the community. You will have purchasing experience. Ability to speak Inuktut and English is required. Preference will be given to Inuit who are enrolled under the Nunavut Agreement.
Starting salary is $85,430.00 (commensurate with experience), along with a Northern and Housing Allowance of $24,000.00.
