Manager – Mineral Agreements and Promotion (M-MAP)

Under the direction of the Senior Advisor – Minerals, Oil and Gas Management (SA-MOGM), the M-MAP will manage the administration of mineral rights on Inuit Owned Lands and where NTI holds mineral titles; compile geological and exploration data on subsurface IOL, maintain databases and other information resources, manage the promotion of subsurface IOL, monitor exploration and mining activities throughout Nunavut and conduct research for and provide assistance in policy development as required.

To be invited for an interview; have a college diploma related to Business Administration, Environmental Science or Land and Resource Management, 5 years work experience in related field, have knowledge of mineral exploration procedures and mining operations, mining and mineral tenure regulations and land and contracts management, knowledge of permitting and regulatory processes with respect to resource development; knowledge of the Nunavut Agreement, basic computer skills (software programs – general, database). Oral, written, presentation and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to analyze and interpret policy, legislation and regulations. To work co-operatively with a variety of individuals and groups, both government and claimant. Equivalencies will be considered.

Preference will be given to Inuit enrolled under the Nunavut Agreement.

Starting salary is $128,144.00 per annum (commensurate with experience) a comprehensive benefit package including an employee pension plan, group insurance and vacation travel assistance.

Housing allowance of $35,865.00
