(December 12, 2016 — Iqaluit, Nunavut) Nunavut Tunngavik Inc. (NTI) Chief Returning Officer Mary Wilman today said that final results will be delayed in the election for president due to poor weather in Kugluktuk. Wilman said polls in Kugluktuk closed today at approximately 2 pm MT due to weather and will reopen as soon as conditions improve. Votes will be counted as soon as the community is able to finish the election.
Levinia Brown, Aluki Kotierk, Joe Adla Kunuk and Cathy Towtongie are competing for the role of president during the election.
