The Nunavut Agreement

The Nunavut Agreement was created to protect Inuit rights and ensure Inuit have a meaningful role in decisions about our lands, waters, wildlife and communities.

The Agreement sets out specific rights, benefits and responsibilities for Inuit, as well as commitments that must be upheld by the federal and territorial governments.

The Nunavut Agreement is the foundation for protecting Inuit rights, strengthening Inuit communities and supporting Inuit self-determination in Nunavut.

Enrolment in the Nunavut Agreement

Nunavut Tunngavik Incorporated (NTI) is responsible for enrolling individuals in the Nunavut Agreement. The process is administered by NTI through the Department of Inuit Programs and Services, and the Community Enrolment Committees.
