(November 7, 2002 – Gjoa Haven, Nunavut) — Delegates to the 2002 Nunavut Tunngavik Inc. Annual General Meeting have unanimously approved the proposed budget for the 2003-04 fiscal year. The $34.2 million budget allows for expanded business and economic development services at NTI, special projects for the Inuit Heritage Trust, and full implementation of the Community Liaison Officer project.
Delegates were well informed and scrutinized our proposed budget carefully, said Paul Kaludjak, NTI’s Vice President of Finance. They appreciate the cost-saving measures we use in our day-to-day decisions and the overall soundness of our finances.
The budget will require a total of $34,195,147 from the Nunavut Trust as follows:
