Nunavut Tunngavik Announces Leadership Transition

For Immediate Release

(January 21, 2026 – Iqaluit, Nunavut) The Nunavut Tunngavik Board of Directors today accepted the resignation of Jeremy Tunraluk as President, effective immediately.

Mr. Tunraluk has been on unpaid leave from Nunavut Tunngavik since December 2, 2025. Vice President Paul Irngaut has agreed to stay on as President until a by-election is called.
At a special members meeting held virtually earlier today, NTI membership voted to hold a by-election for President in December 2026, concurrently with the election for the two Vice President positions.

NTI remains focused on its mission to support the social, cultural and economic wellbeing of Nunavut Inuit through full and fair implementation of the Nunavut Agreement.
