Nunavut Tunngavik Inc. (NTI) President Aluki Kotierk today announced that she was assuming the role of chairperson of NTI’s Inuit Social and Cultural Development Advisory Committee, effective immediately.
During her campaign for NTI president last year, Kotierk expressed her interest in and commitment to Inuit social and cultural issues, and is keen to work in these priority areas.
“I hope to make a positive impact in the social and cultural well-being of Inuit over the next four years. It is important that we shift the social and cultural narrative about Inuit. We all have a role to play to make our lives better.” said Kotierk.
Kotierk takes over the role of chair from Vice-President James Eetoolook who will continue to chair the Inuit Wildlife and Environment Advisory Committee, as well as represent Inuit on NTI’s Board of Directors and Executive Committee.
