(January 15, 2002 – IQALUIT, Nunavut) Cathy Towtongie, President of Nunavut Tunngavik Inc (NTI) is pleased to announce the appointment of Caroline Anawak as Executive Assistant to the President.

I am very happy that Caroline will be working with us, said Towtongie. She has literally decades of experience in public and private sector organizations, has lived in the North for over thirty years and knows NTI very well. Her skills and experience will enable her to make significant contributions to the organization.

I look forward to working with NTI, said Anawak. I am sure that there will be great challenges and I hope to help the organization fulfill its role in implementing the Land Claims Agreement on behalf of all beneficiaries.

Anawak most recently worked with Government of Nunavut Department of Health and Social Services. In the past she has worked with many Aboriginal organizations, including Kivalliq Inuit Association, NTI (and its predecessor, TFN) and Inuit Tapirisat of Canada.

Caroline Anawak begins work in NTI’s Iqaluit office on January 28, 2002.
