NTI Announces a New Scholarship Program for Inuit Students

(January 5, 2018 – Iqaluit, Nunavut) Nunavut Tunngavik Inc. (NTI) President Aluki Kotierk is pleased to announce that a new scholarship program has begun, effective today January 4, 2018, through the recently established Nunavut Tunngavik Foundation (NTF).

 

NTF has received the remainder of the Common Experience Payment Designated Amount Funds after all payments were made to eligible former residential school pursuant to the Residential School Settlement Agreement.

 

Up to 200 Inuit will be eligible to apply for the $1250 Post-Secondary Scholarship launching on January 4th of 2018, with a deadline of January 31st, 2018 at 5PM CST. Stage two of this Post-Secondary Scholarship will open again in July of 2018, and will increase to $2500 per student enrolled in a post-secondary course or program.
