(September 29, 2020, Iqaluit) Nunavut Tunngavik Incorporated (NTI) is pleased to announce that Mr. David Kunuk has joined NTI as the Chief Operating Officer (COO) effective September 28, 2020.
David has had an extensive career with Inuit organizations and development corporations. From 2004 to 2015, he was the Director of Implementation for NTI, and in this role, was the main witness for the $1 billion lawsuit which was settled in 2015. David was most recently with the Government of Nunavut as the Director of Minerals and Petroleum with the Department of Economic Development and Transportation.
David was born in Iqaluit and raised in Igloolik and Iqaluit. He is currently taking courses in Continuing Studies at University of Victoria. David enjoys hunting, fishing, boating, and snowmobiling.
David replaces Jeannie Arreak-Kullualik who has accepted the position of Director of Inuktut Initiatives at NTI. The Director, Inuktut Initiatives oversees NTI’s commitment to become an Inuktut workplace and will work towards Inuktut becoming the language of work in Nunavut.
