Under the direction of the Assistant Director (Health) The TB Community Engagement Specialist plays a key role within the Department of Social and Cultural Development (SCD), assisting Nunavut Tunngavik Inc. (NTI) to advance its health priority areas. The Specialist is responsible for Community Engagement and awareness activities in communities with established TB activity, and works closely with the Government of Nunavut’s Public Health division.

The TB Community Engagement Specialist will directly report to the Assistant Director (Health) and work with a team to advance NTI’s mission. The Department is responsible for activities related to NTI’s obligations as the Designated Inuit Organization (DIO) under Article 32 of the Nunavut Agreement.

To be invited for an interview; the following education, knowledge, skills, and abilities are required Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field, or at least 3 years of equivalent work experience in health promotion, health programming or communications. Knowledge of health-related issues affecting Inuit in Nunavut. Good knowledge of the Nunavut Agreement and NTI’s Mission, especially A32. Effective oral and written skills, in English and Inuktitut. Must be willing to take training in Inuktitut if not fluent

Preference will be given to Inuit enrolled under the Nunavut Agreement.

Starting salary is $124,330.00 per annum (commensurate with experience) a comprehensive benefit package including an employee pension plan, group insurance and vacation travel assistance.

Housing allowance of $35,232.00
