Under the direction of the Chief Operating Officer (COO), this position exists to assist in the overall development and coordination of Nunavut Tunngavik Inc (NTI) positions and interests in all aspect of NTI involvement. The incumbent is responsible for the coordination NTI interests, developing NTI positions at/for discussion/negotiations with the Government of Nunavut/ Federal Government and Institutions of Public Government pertaining to environmental assessments, land use planning, policy and amendments of resource management regulations and or legislation. You as the incumbent will be the central NTI contact point for the forgoing external organizations and will work closely with the departmental counterparts with sectorial and regulatory responsibilities. You will also represent NTI in interdepartmental, coordinate with Regional Inuit Associations, industry and public forums as well as on various committees and working groups.
To be invited for an interview; you should have thorough knowledge of the Nunavut Agreement, NTI’s mission, Corporate Governance and Board Policies; demonstrated work experience in policy analysis, policy development and implementation experience; you should have proven skills in negotiations and strong network skills; have the experience in working with Boards and/or Committees; a solid experience in highly politically sensitive environment. The ability to work on multiple files with demanding deadlines and high levels of stress and strong written, communication and presentation skills. English is essential and Inuit language would be a definite asset.
Preference will be given to Inuit enrolled under the Nunavut Agreement.
Starting salary is $119,215.00 per annum (commensurate with experience) a comprehensive benefit package including an employee pension plan, group insurance and vacation travel assistance.
NTI provides a variety of housing supports to employees including down payment assistance and housing allowance of $27,600.
