Under the direction of the Director of Self Determination; you as the successful candidate will support a full range of issues of concern to the organization. Maintain a watching brief of medium and long term range policy trends and issues of concern to NTI; understand and communicate the implications of these trends and issues; prepare or arrange for policy research papers, briefing notes, speeches and/or speaking notes as required; undertake priority policy areas as periodically assigned by the Director and represent NTI in meetings as required.
To be invited for an interview; you are required to have the following knowledge, skills and abilities: good policy analysis, planning, and research skills, strong writing skills and strong problem-solving abilities. You must have knowledge of the Nunavut Agreement and NTI’s Mission, and demonstrated sensitivity to Inuit issues. We are seeking an individual who is a self-starter with strong motivation and initiative with proven ability to deal simultaneously with multiple files. You must have the ability to meet demanding deadlines, ability to work under high levels of stress/pressure and strong presentation skills.
Preference will be given to Inuit enrolled under the Nunavut Agreement.
Starting salary is $101,146.00 per annum (commensurate with experience) a comprehensive benefit package including an employee pension plan, group insurance and vacation travel assistance.
NTI provides a variety of housing supports to employees including down payment assistance and housing allowance of $27,600.
