Assistant Director of Implementation

Nunavut Tunngavik is looking for motivated Inuit interested in working in the Department of Implementation. We are seeking interested individuals for the position of Assistant Director of the Department of Implementation.

Reporting to the Director of Implementation, the Assistant Director will provide support across the full range of Implementations Division responsibilities including; the monitoring of obligations related to the Nunavut Agreement, assisting in the development of departmental strategic and implementation plans; representing NTI at various committees and venues. Assist in the development of departmental budgets, and to supervise and support staff.

Work will also include the negotiation and implementation of Impact and Benefit agreements related to articles 8 and 9, working closely with other Inuit organizations and departments in both the Federal and Territorial Governments.

Participation in recruitment and selection of divisional staff will be required.

Knowledge of the Nunavut Agreement, NTI’s mission, programs and activities is important. Ability to deal simultaneously with multiple files is an asset, also the ability to work in a political sensitive environment and under high levels of stress/pressure.

Project management experience and the ability to work with demanding deadlines and shifting priorities is an definite asset Along with the ability to work well and collaboratively with a diverse group of colleagues and stakeholders. strong presentation and writing skills are required. Spoken and written Inuktut/Inuinnaqtun language is desirable and the willingness to learn is required. If this interest you, please respond to this advertisement.

Preference will be given to Inuit enrolled under the Nunavut Agreement.

Starting salary is $113,452.00 per annum (commensurate with experience) a comprehensive benefit package including an employee pension plan, group insurance and vacation travel assistance.
