NTI Announces Inuktuuqta! Awards Finalist

(November 5, 2025 – Iqaluit, Nunavut) Nunavut Tunngavik President, and Chair of the Nunavut Tunngavik Foundation Jeremy Tunraluk is pleased to announce the 2025 finalists for the Inuktuuqta! Inuktut Writing Prize. They are Margaret Neeveacheak-Steele, Raigili Amaaq, Megan Maata Ungalaq, and Daniel Kuluguqtuq.

On Saturday, November 8th, the Inuktuuqta! Awards Gala will take place at the Aqsarniit Hotel and Conference Centre in Iqaluit, Nunavut where winners will be announced. One of the finalists will be awarded the grand prize of $80,000 and support to continue their writing over a year to develop their submission into a full-length book. Additional prizes will be awarded for $10,000, $5000, $3000, and $2000.

The Inuktuuqta! Inuktut Writing Prize Gala will include performances from Nunavut artists Christine Tootoo and Tooma Laisa, Janet Aglukkaq and Kathy Keknek, with a feature performance from Silla x DJ Lambo.

This year’s event includes a production team of all Inuit technicians running stage, sound and lighting, with lead technicians from Greenland and trainees from Nunavut, with the goal of building capacity in territory to run future events.
