(February 15, 2017 – Iqaluit, Nunavut) Nunavut Tunngavik Inc. (NTI) President Aluki Kotierk today congratulated Iqaluit resident Johnny Issaluk on being selected to be a Cultural Ambassador during the Canada 150 celebrations.
Canada 150 Ambassadors are accomplished Canadians, trendsetters and influencers from all across the country that will educate and inspire Canadians with their wealth of knowledge in their respective fields.
Issaluk is a strong advocate for mental health and suicide prevention in the territory and has over 20 years of experience teaching Inuit Games. He is also an aspiring entrepreneur, Nurraq Outfitting, which includes motivational counseling, land trips, and arctic sports.
“I offer my sincere congratulations to Mr. Issaluk. He has influenced and helped many Nunavummiut in his efforts for Inuit wellness. Being chosen as one of the 150 aspiring Canadians will expand his efforts as well as educate Canadians on the many strengths and accomplishments of Inuit”, said Kotierk.
