Photo Contest Rules and Conditions

Do you want the opportunity to have a photograph you have taken appear on Nunavut Tunngavik Inc.’s (NTI) website? You could gain recognition for your work. A winning photo will be chosen each month, and if your photo is chosen as Photo of the Year, you will receive a $1000 cash award. If you are interested, read the rules and conditions below and enter the competition.
For pictures that include people, photographers must have the people pictured in their photograph(s) complete and sign the Photo Release Forms which state that the person agrees to have their image reproduced on the website and in NTI publications and materials.

Due to liability, mail and cargo delays, only digital photographs by email will be accepted.

Digital photographs must be in .tif or .jpg format, at least 1 MB in size and 300 DPI. If you do not know how to adjust these settings, please ensure that when you take photos, your camera is set to its maximum resolution and detail settings. Send image files exactly as they were transferred from your camera. Photographs that have been altered in any way will not be accepted. If you are asked by your computer if you want to compress your images before sending them by email, please select “no” or “keep the original sizes.”

Photo Release Forms and Photographer Consent Forms can be downloaded from the website. These forms must be completed and signed and submitted with the photograph.

The photographer agrees that NTI has permission to use the photograph on the website and in other NTI materials from time to time. The photographer grants to NTI the following rights:

1. To portray the photograph and to adapt the photograph to other versions and for all media, now or hereafter known;
2. To reproduce the photograph with other material prepared by others;
3. To distribute the photograph in any other media;
4. To use the photograph for any other publicity and programming purposes by NTI.

The photographs may be downloaded from the website by outside parties.

Photographers are entitled to submit a total of three new photographs each month.

A completed photographer consent form must accompany each picture. NTI will contact you if your photograph is selected. Your name will be displayed on the picture that is used on the website.

Every month, a panel of judges made up of NTI employees will select a photograph using guidelines available on the NTI website. The photo that is selected will be displayed on the NTI website.

This contest is open to Beneficiaries of the Nunavut Land Claims Agreement.
