Featuring information in Inuktitut, Inuinnaqtun and English, the NTI website includes a complete description of NTI’s Beneficiary Programs and application forms, press releases, contact information about NTI’s Board of Directors, and Executive Officers, as well as links to NTI publications, which include our magazine Naniiliqpita, the Nunavut Land Claims Agreement (NLCA), the Plain Language Guide to the Nunavut Land Claims Agreement, and links to related websites. The NTI website also features a photo contest for Beneficiaries, and up-to-date information about the Inuit Firm Registry database, which allows visitors to search and browse for Inuit-owned businesses. What's New?
Nunavut Tunngavik Inc. will celebrate the 15th anniversary of the Nunavut Land Claims Agreement on July 9, 2008. In honour of this event, NTI will host a number of special initiatives this summer, many of which have as their common theme the number 15.
One such initiative includes a contest for 15-year-old Inuit youth. Called The 606 Contest, the event is designed for Inuit Beneficiaries born between Jan. 1-Dec. 31, 1993.
If you are one of 606 registered Nunavut Beneficiaries in this age group, we want to know what Nunavut and the Nunavut Land Claims Agreement means to you. Tell us what you think about any aspect of this topic in a short video or audio recording, or a written essay.

A panel of NTI judges will review submissions and select a winner from each region of Nunavut. The names of the three winners will be announced on Nunavut Day during the celebrations in Iqaluit. Cash prizes of $1,500 will be awarded to each winner.
Submissions are due June 20, 2008 at 5 p.m. EDT. Copies of the rules and regulations, as well as consent forms, are available from NTI or on the website.
Entries may be submitted in Inuktitut, Inuinnaqtun or English.
Nunavut Tunngavik Inc. Accepting Applications for Kakiniit Grants
Nunavut Tunngavik Inc. announced that application forms for the 2008 Kakiniit Grants are now available.
The grants program awards $1,000 to five students seeking to improve their cultural or traditional skills and $1,000 to five students enrolled in academic training at a post-secondary institution. Only Beneficiaries of the Nunavut Land Claims Agreement (NLCA) are eligible for the scholarship programs.
The Kakiniit Grants program was launched July 9, 2007 as part of the Nunavut Day celebrations. The names of successful recipients will be announced this Nunavut Day during the celebrations in Iqaluit.
Completed application forms are due Friday, May 30, 2008 by 5 p.m. EDT. Application forms are available below: or by calling 1-888-646-0006.

Kakiniit Grants
The deadline for submission of applications is May 30, 2008. Grant recipients will be contacted on Nunavut Day, July 9, 2008 with the status of their application.
