(March 19, 2008 — Iqaluit, Nunavut) NTI Elections Chief Returning Officer Adamee Itorcheak today announced the results of the elections for the executive officer positions of president and vice-president of finance.

Incumbent Paul Kaludjak was elected president of NTI, beating out candidates Jack Anawak, Mickey Akavak and Abe Tagalik. Incumbent Raymond Ningeocheak was elected vice-president of finance, beating out candidates James T. Arreak and Jayko Aloolloo.
The voter turnout was approximately 29.5 per cent. Inuit who are at least 16 years of age and older, enrolled under the Nunavut Land Claims Agreement and Canadian citizens were permitted to vote in yesterday’s election.
